EmmaLee's art

So some of you may know that my little sister, EmmaLee wants to be an artist when she's grown up. For only being seven years old, ( going on eight in September ) she's already pretty good. Her favorite thing to paint is animals, and she does better at them then I do, and a lot of people mostly are. LOL!!! So the other day we cut up a pineapple and had the top of it left over. Well I decided that it would be fun to paint those leafs. And EmmaLee wanted to paint too. So she grabbed the cantaloupe and began to paint it. And she took some pictures of it... here they are...

Side two

side four.

Now I know that something round doesn't really have sides, but these are the four different designs that she did. GREAT JOB EMMALEE!!!!!

1 more down

Okay so as most of you know... Two of my sisters are married. And just yesterday my other sister Kirstie got engaged to her boyfriend, David. I didn't get any pictures of them yesterday, so next time David comes here I'll be sure to take some, so you can see them. Not much has been decided yet. If you'd like to see some older pictures of them you can look at some of my older posts, like in my January posts, entitled "Christmas." And I'll not forget to post newer pictures of them as soon as I can.

Spring

It's now Spring!!! It's one of the most beautiful times of the year. Everything is going green. Little baby animals are being born, and human babies too. The cold is gone and the time to were shorts and swimming suits has been getting closer.

April's friend Teirssa came up last week because that was her Spring brake. They were very happy. I've taken this week off to be with my friends, ( and family ) I'm making a birthday party for my friend Ashlyn. And I have the help of another friend, Paige. And all I will say about it is that it'll be very fun.

So I'm hoping that the rest of you have a lovely and fun Spring!!!!

March storms

So March is here. I've always loved March. The past weeks have been so warm that we thought we'd have an early Spring,,, we were wrong! The other day, these large dark clouds began to circle around. April and I went for a walk and it began to rain. We didn't think much of it. We gathered our friends and went to the Rodeo grounds to play with our dogs. It started to rain a bit harder, and Ashlyn, ( my very good friend ) and I went and ran in it, loving the long lost rain. Then Kirstie and her boy-friend David drove up and told us that there was a large storm coming our way, so we sent some of the dogs home with her and started on our way back home. Well, to try and make a long story shorter than it has been so far I'll skip to the point. When we got home it began to rain some more, the big storm never hit, or at least it waited a while, like three days, while. So today and yesterday it was snowing and it was a lot of snow. There was enough wind that not much of it stuck to the ground. But it was still snow.

Eggs

I finally have that picture of that large egg. Here it is...

Egg next to the ruler

Egg in my hand.

It was a big egg.

So the other day I opened the refrigerator and noticed that we had a lot of eggs,,, and I mean A LOT of eggs. Our chickens hadn't been laying so good, so no one was thinking about the amount of eggs we were getting. So I pulled them all out and counted... 132 eggs!!! Plus one, so 133 eggs. 11 dozen, ( plus one. ) so we gave them away to friends and neighbors. We kept 13 of the eggs for our self.  Here are some pictures of them when we had them all out on the table...

All on the table, open.

We organized them

All stacked on each other.

The eighteen egg carton on the top is the one we kept, it only had thirteen in it though. But there sure were a lot of eggs.

It was time

On February 16th Cherokee had to be put down. He was the best dog we ever had. It was the hardest thing our family has ever had to do. But he was old and his muscles were dieing. He had large lumps, ( cyst ) and his heart wasn't doing so good. For his last day we took him outside and played with him. Because he wasn't doing so good, we had to take several brakes. We all had our pictures taken with him. And he was having the best time. By the end of the day he was so tired out and ready to sleep. After dinner, we gave him lots and lots of table scraps. Then we put him in the car. Kirstie, Dad, and I were the only ones to go. The others said their good byes before he left. I sat in the back of the car giving him loves and crying. I had some treats with me, and was giving them to him freely. When we pulled into the shelter, the man came out with the first drug in his hand. Kirstie and I sat in the back of the car with him while the drug took affect. ( the drug was to make him tired and loopy. ) After it did, the man picked him up and carried Cherokee into the building. Kirstie and my Dad went with him, but I stayed in the car, I didn't want to see him that way. A short while later Kirstie and Dad came back out, and we went home. We had to leave his body there, because the ground here is too frozen to make a proper hole, and the animals around here would have dug him up, it was hard to leave him but we had to. It's hard without him, and I can't help but think of him every day. He'll certainly be missed. But we know that he is now in heaven, healthy and young, playing with balls all day.
