sliced leg

On Saturday night, (last night) I was taking a shower, and decided that I'd shave my legs for church. But, while I was shaving, I slipped and sliced my leg. There was blood everywhere and a long piece of my skin was swimming around the shower floor, too big to go down the drain. I finished shaving my legs, thinking it wasn't as bad as it looked, since water usually makes bleeding things look worse then it really is. But when I got out, it was pretty bad. Here are a few, not so great, pictures...

It measures at three and a half inches long and a half centimeter wide.
And now that that it's starting to scab, it cracks open and bleeds a lot. And hurts.
Oh well.

New parakeets

On the 20th of June, April, EmmaLee, Mom, John, Olivia and me... all went down to the Valley to take care of Jennifer and Josh's house and dogs. It was a lot hotter down there then up where we live, but they have a pool, so it was okay. We got to see Melanie, and her new puppy, Harley. We had fun swimming (2 to 3 times a day) and watching TV. We even got some sweets to snack on. The babies were pretty good, but they did get fussy a lot.
Then on the 22nd, we were on craigslist looking at cages for parakeets. We found this one, very pretty, blue, baby male parakeet. We called on him and asked if we could come and see him. The lady told us "yes" and that she also had a green one if we were interested. And cages. So, we packed the kids into the car, and were on our way. It only took about ten minutes to get there. When we walked in the door, the two birds were in their cage with a small bag of food, ready to go. The lady said, "Okay here they are. Would you like me to trim their wings for you?" It was funny because I had told her on the phone that we were just looking. But I loved them, so I talked with her about prices, and asked for a different cage, (Because she had a lot for sale and I didn't like the one that they came with) So I got a large black cage, and two baby parakeets! It cost me 55 dollars, but the cage came with perches, and was very big, so I think it was a good deal.
The green one is a girl and the blue one is a boy

This is the cage(it's not a great picture)

I think they are beautiful, and I'm very happy with them. I haven't decided on any names for them yet, but will soon.
I'm happy!

John turned 2

Today, (June 9) John turned 2 years old. We celebrated his birthday on the 8th so that both David and Kirstie could be with him. We mainly just chilled for the first part of the day. Then he took a nap. When he woke up, he opened his presents. He got lots of cool, 2 year old, toys. For his birthday dinner he got spaghetti. Then all of us, except Mom and Olivia, went to the park. John had lots of fun.
When we got him back home, we did cake. He had yellow cake, with chocolate frosting. He enjoyed blowing out the candles.
All in all, it was a good birthday for the little guy.

A Year

It's been a year since I wrote.  Dad has turned 55, April is 15, EmmaLee is 9, I'm 16, Mom is 49... and so forth. Kirstie had another baby. Olivia Kadence Young. She's about 4 months old. Kirstie and David just had their two year anniversary. And are in the process of buying a new house, meanwhile Kirstie and her kids are living with us.  Todd and Rebecca are trying to buy a house of their own. Josh, and Jennifer recently bought a very nice house, and have put a lot of work into it, it looks very nice. Keats and Melanie bought a house several months back, and have a new truck and family car. The rest of us are in the same house with no new animals. (though some have died) April just finished her Freshman year of High school, and me my Sophomore/Junior.
Our "puppies" are now 2 years old. Charlotte will be turning 4 in July, but still acts like a lively puppy. Sadie is getting older (I can't remember how old she is) and starting to act it. We have two rabbits left, one cat, and 12 chickens.
April and I have recently returned from girl's camp and had a very good time. It was my first year as a YCL and I loved it. As a service project we went to a creek and picked up trash, a lot of the girls got leeches, luckily I wasn't one of them. My bed was right on top of a stump, and so my back is bruised. The YCLs had some awesome skits. We themed it Julian Smith. We used Waffles, Racist Coffee, and Malk. It was amazing.
