Kash

My second nephew was born October 23rd. He is so cute. I wish I had gotten some pictures of him when Melanie and Keats brought him up here. His name is Kash Recker Jack. I think it's very interesting... and cute. :)

Rebecca

Rebecca moved out. :( She and Todd moved up to Utah. We miss them a lot. But I think they're enjoying it up there. They took our little Sydney cat. We miss her too. :) But now that Rebecca is gone... April, EmmaLee and myself all have our own rooms. April has the green room, EmmaLee has the purple, and I have the blue. It's fun to have our own rooms.

November

It is now November!!! I'm so happy. The cold came fast and out of no where. One day it was warm,,, and then the next...we're all wearing coats.

Weight

Today we decided that it would be a good idea to weigh our dogs. It had been a long time since we weighed Charlotte and Sadie, and we thought it would be fun to watch the puppies weight as they grew. My dogs are growing up way too fast. :(

My two year old lab, was weighed and is 100 pounds exactly. She sure is getting big.
Little Dee was... 47.6 pounds.

Brutus is... 43 pounds.

And Sadie is... 13 pounds.
Where did my puppies go? Sadie was the easiest of them to weigh. Brutus and Dee were hard to hold but not too heavy. And Charlotte was way too heavy and big, she took several tries to get her properly weighed.

Long time, no blog

It had been such a long time since I've updated this blog. The last thing was back in August. Since then school has started. I've started seminary this year. I have Brother Davis. He's a very good teacher. EmmaLee has also celebrated her 8th birthday... pictures were taken with the new camera, so there will be no pictures of her birthday. David and EmmaLee were both baptized on September 11. It was fabulous. All us sisters (minus EmmaLee) sang a special number. April and myself each gave a talk. Also, (I can't remember the exact day) Jennifer, Melanie, and Keats came up a couple of days before the baptism. And they brought with them two new kittens. We named them Sun kissed, and Ginger. They're both very cute. I've also had my 15th birthday. The pictures for that were also taken on the new camera. Just a few more months until I get my permit, then I get the van. Well, that was a very quick re-cap of the past month. Tomorrow I have a plans with my friends to go and party at Clear Creek. YAY!!!

Bogging

For quite a few weeks now, It has been raining like crazy. There have been a lot of frogs all over. At night you can look at the road and thing that there are a lot of little leafs blowing across the road. But no,,, they are frogs. They're very loud at night. Well, with all the rain that we've been getting... we've also been getting a lot of mud. :) So this last Saturday, my Dad got the 4-wheelers out. And we went mud bogging!!!! It was so fun. I hit every mud hole that I could. There were some points in time that you would drive into the wind, and the spray of mud would come flying back into your face!!! I loved it! We spent a long time out there trying to get as dirty as possible. Mom didn't go though. So when we got home we sorta' surprised her with out muddy 4-wheelers and clothes. We did get some pictures, that I will put up soon. We are very close to figuring out the camera. So not too much longer to wait for the pictures.

Parvo

About a week ago, Brutus had stopped eating. We also found blood in his poop. He was also vomiting. So we took him to the vet to see what was wrong with him. The vet told us that Brutus had parvo. So we had to feed him his meds through a needle every three hours. It made us sad. But he is now recovered. He is eating and drinking again, and gaining back weight and spirit. We love our little, well sorta' little, Brutus.

Pups

This is Brutus.
This is Dee.

The two puppies together. Dee, and Brutus.

I was able to get the old camera to work just a little for me. I got some pictures of our puppies. The pictures may be a little weird, because of the camera.
They sure are cute. I love them. We got them around five weeks old. They've just over doubled their size. They are German Shepard crossed with a Cane Corso. They're going to be big beastly dogs.

Worth it all

This is Bugs Bunny
This is Thumper

And this is Skipper.
On Friday the 18th of June. I went out side to feed my animals. When I was walking to my rabbits cage... I noticed that they had been killed. They were lying around out side their cage. I'm not going to really talk about the condition their bodies were in. What ever killed them, ripped right through the wiring of their cage. I had to pick up my rabbits and put them all in their box. April and I spent the next five hours digging their grave, the ground out here is very hard, we made it about 1 foot and 4 inches. My hands hurt with blisters, but with my Dad's help, we were able to get it deep enough for the box to fit. ( The rabbits are HUGE so they filled a large box ) Thanks Dad. That's one of the hard things about living up here, animals kill animals. People don't contain their dogs very well up here. It's a sad truth,,, but the nice thing about being up here is that we have the opportunity to own these animals. It's sad when we loose them, but the times we had with them are worth every bit of the pain.
( I used the old camera to get those pictures, the new one still isn't working. )

Long time

It's been a long time since I've done any thing with the blog. Sorry. A lot has happened since the last bit of news. April had a birthday the day after Kirstie. We also went down into Maricopa to see David's graduation from the police academy. Also we got to visit with Jennifer and Josh... and stay at their house for the time we were there. On our last day there, we went to look at some puppies. Well we fell in love with them... so our Dad gave us TWO of them!!!! Wow, you've just got to love MY Dad. :) They are German Shepard X Cane Corso,,, the Cane Corso is an Italian Mastiff. The girl's name is Dee and she is brindle... The boy's name is Brutus and he is tan with black lining, (marking ). They have tripled in size from the time that we bought them.

Kirstie had her baby. He is beautiful. He was born three weeks early... He was just under seven pounds. His name is John Samuel Garth Young. Long name,,, but it works. He has a lot of hair.

And also in the same week that he was born... I had EFY. ( Especially For Youth ) It was awesome!!!! The food was really bad, but the time spent there was amazing. I would recommend it to every one!!! I made so many new friends, and had some awesome experiences. I hope to get some pictures up of every thing that has happened... but our camera isn't working right now. So just be patient with me and I'll get them up as soon as I can. ;)

Kirstie's 20th Birthday

On April 13, Kirstie turned twenty years old. She is no longer a teenager. We didn't celebrate her birthday on the actual day... but we did celebrate it on the 17th.

Amanda, ( me ) Kirstie, and David.

EmmaLee, Kirstie, and David

Mom, Kirstie, and David

This is mom and Kirstie trying to get David to smile.

April, Kirstie, and David.

Rebecca, Kirstie, and David.

And my Dad went over and finally got David to smile, while Mom snapped a picture. David has a really nice smile, it just goes away when you pull out the camera. Kirstie didn't have a cake but she did have a strawberry desert that we didn't get a picture of. She liked all her gifts.

Dad's Fifty-third Birthday

On the fourth of April... My Dad turned fifty-three. It funny to think of my Dad as that old. Even though he's getting older, he is still a lot of fun. His birthday was fun as well. It was on conference weekend, and Easter. But one of the really fun parts... was shopping for him. I'm not a really big fan of shopping, but the gifts we bought him are awesome. Here are some pictures of his great birthday...

Dad, before all of the presents were opened.

David, Kirstie, and Dad

Rebecca, and Dad

So then we had the cake, It was chocolate with cream cheese frosting. And we had fifty-three candles on it, plus four sparklers. The cake was so hot. It looked like we had a fire on the cake, here is a picture so you know what I'm talking about.

Blow em' out Dad!!!

He was almost able to blow them all out. But the sparklers don't usually go out, and they kept bringing back the other candles. But for all the candles there were to blow out,,, he did a good job.

And this is April, trying to figure out hoe to use the new toilet.

April's New Look

Around the first week of April... April, ( my sister not the month ) decided that she was fed-up with her hair, so she decided to get it cut. At first she was planning to have it just a few inches long, but left it a little longer then that. Here are some before and after pictures.

And after the cut...

She loves have less hair now. But the funny thing is... is that she spends more time on it now then she did before. I looks really cute when she spikes it. The pictures above are of her hair before she spiked it. She loves her new hair. :)

EmmaLee's art

So some of you may know that my little sister, EmmaLee wants to be an artist when she's grown up. For only being seven years old, ( going on eight in September ) she's already pretty good. Her favorite thing to paint is animals, and she does better at them then I do, and a lot of people mostly are. LOL!!! So the other day we cut up a pineapple and had the top of it left over. Well I decided that it would be fun to paint those leafs. And EmmaLee wanted to paint too. So she grabbed the cantaloupe and began to paint it. And she took some pictures of it... here they are...

side one

Side two

side three

side four.

Now I know that something round doesn't really have sides, but these are the four different designs that she did. GREAT JOB EMMALEE!!!!!

1 more down

Okay so as most of you know... Two of my sisters are married. And just yesterday my other sister Kirstie got engaged to her boyfriend, David. I didn't get any pictures of them yesterday, so next time David comes here I'll be sure to take some, so you can see them. Not much has been decided yet. If you'd like to see some older pictures of them you can look at some of my older posts, like in my January posts, entitled "Christmas." And I'll not forget to post newer pictures of them as soon as I can.

Spring

It's now Spring!!! It's one of the most beautiful times of the year. Everything is going green. Little baby animals are being born, and human babies too. The cold is gone and the time to were shorts and swimming suits has been getting closer.

April's friend Teirssa came up last week because that was her Spring brake. They were very happy. I've taken this week off to be with my friends, ( and family ) I'm making a birthday party for my friend Ashlyn. And I have the help of another friend, Paige. And all I will say about it is that it'll be very fun.

So I'm hoping that the rest of you have a lovely and fun Spring!!!!

March storms

So March is here. I've always loved March. The past weeks have been so warm that we thought we'd have an early Spring,,, we were wrong! The other day, these large dark clouds began to circle around. April and I went for a walk and it began to rain. We didn't think much of it. We gathered our friends and went to the Rodeo grounds to play with our dogs. It started to rain a bit harder, and Ashlyn, ( my very good friend ) and I went and ran in it, loving the long lost rain. Then Kirstie and her boy-friend David drove up and told us that there was a large storm coming our way, so we sent some of the dogs home with her and started on our way back home. Well, to try and make a long story shorter than it has been so far I'll skip to the point. When we got home it began to rain some more, the big storm never hit, or at least it waited a while, like three days, while. So today and yesterday it was snowing and it was a lot of snow. There was enough wind that not much of it stuck to the ground. But it was still snow.

Mutual Olympics

So for mutual a while back ( yesterday ) we had a minnnie Olympics. There were no events that really happened at the Olympics, but there were some fun activities. And with one I some how stepped on my wrist... IT HURT!!!! I have a mark but when I took a picture of it the camera didn't catch it.

Eggs

I finally have that picture of that large egg. Here it is...

Egg next to the ruler

Egg in my hand.

It was a big egg.

So the other day I opened the refrigerator and noticed that we had a lot of eggs,,, and I mean A LOT of eggs. Our chickens hadn't been laying so good, so no one was thinking about the amount of eggs we were getting. So I pulled them all out and counted... 132 eggs!!! Plus one, so 133 eggs. 11 dozen, ( plus one. ) so we gave them away to friends and neighbors. We kept 13 of the eggs for our self.  Here are some pictures of them when we had them all out on the table...

All on the table, open.

We organized them

All stacked on each other.

The eighteen egg carton on the top is the one we kept, it only had thirteen in it though. But there sure were a lot of eggs.

It was time

On February 16th Cherokee had to be put down. He was the best dog we ever had. It was the hardest thing our family has ever had to do. But he was old and his muscles were dieing. He had large lumps, ( cyst ) and his heart wasn't doing so good. For his last day we took him outside and played with him. Because he wasn't doing so good, we had to take several brakes. We all had our pictures taken with him. And he was having the best time. By the end of the day he was so tired out and ready to sleep. After dinner, we gave him lots and lots of table scraps. Then we put him in the car. Kirstie, Dad, and I were the only ones to go. The others said their good byes before he left. I sat in the back of the car giving him loves and crying. I had some treats with me, and was giving them to him freely. When we pulled into the shelter, the man came out with the first drug in his hand. Kirstie and I sat in the back of the car with him while the drug took affect. ( the drug was to make him tired and loopy. ) After it did, the man picked him up and carried Cherokee into the building. Kirstie and my Dad went with him, but I stayed in the car, I didn't want to see him that way. A short while later Kirstie and Dad came back out, and we went home. We had to leave his body there, because the ground here is too frozen to make a proper hole, and the animals around here would have dug him up, it was hard to leave him but we had to. It's hard without him, and I can't help but think of him every day. He'll certainly be missed. But we know that he is now in heaven, healthy and young, playing with balls all day.

Big Egg

The other day I went outside to check the eggs. We have three different coops...

1. The red coop

2. The light green coop

3. The dark green coop

As I opened the nest box lid of the dark green coop there was this monster of an egg. It was also green telling us that either Chip, Dale, or Munk were the possible layers of this egg.

From one end to the other is measured 8 cm.  And the length around the middle was 6 1/2 in.   It was huge.  We cracked it open and it was a double yolk. And they were big yolk. I did take a picture of it before we cracked it but I can't find the camera now. So next time I up-date I'll put those pictures on here.

Not so good

The last thing I enjoy doing, is giving bad news. My loved dog Cherokee, got something wrong in his back leg a few years back. it turned out that he'd be able to live a few more years. He was doing good for a time. but just a few days ago he began limping on his front right leg. One day it was so bad that he was barely able to move. So we set up another vet appointment for him. We took him in and the vet told us that he had the same problem with his front leg as he did the back one. We now have him on special medicine and now only time will tell if it's time to let go. We all love him so much, and he is still so alive... if you take him outside he'll run around like a puppy. But if he lays down and goes to get back up, he looks like it hurts. So when things get worse we'll have to put him down. I hope for all of you prayers. I pray for him in all of mine, and this Sunday I'm doing a fast for him.

Christmas

I know that Christmas has already come and gone, but I thought that I still should put some pictures up. It was a very good Christmas, there were much more presents then we thought there would be. All my sisters and their Husbands/boyfriends were able to come.

This is my sister Melanie, and her husband Keats.

This is Kirstie, David, ( her boyfriend ) and EmmaLee.

These lovely people are my parents, their names are... Dad and Mom.

This is April and I, those good moments when we get along, ( just kidding, we get along fine. )

This is my sister Jennifer and her husband Josh.

This is Rebecca, and her boyfriend Todd.

They were all there with us, and every one brought their animals, just not Melanie and Keats. The house was full, AND WE LOVED IT!!! Here are some pictures of the living room on Christmas morning...

Oh, what lovely presents! We all had an awesome time. I hope every one else had one just as good.

Now I know that this picture is a little random, but i couldn't help myself, this is Josh while we were playing a game, he got just a little hyper. But we still love him. :)

This is my mom and dad having fun with the things April and I knitted for them. Aren't they awesome looking?

And these are pictures of my mother having me play, "model" with my new shirt... And no my pinky isn't missing, I just have it tucked in. :)

And now, for all of those who know me you should know what's coming next... Pictures of the animals!!! YEAH!!!

and Charlotte, these are just our dogs, now you get to see the other...

This is Po, also seen in the picture above.

Buddy, him and Po are Kirste's dogs.

This is Torque and Bently, Jennifer and Josh's dogs, they also have a pom pom, ( Pomeranian  ) but we never got a picture of her.

And this is about all I have about Christmas.
